My vote will be given to McCain in the upcoming election.
Those of you stating Obama wants peace and an end to the "War on Terror"? Any of you who watched the last debate should have picked out his comments about Pakistan and the actions he intends to take against it should they not "comply." Yeah. I'll go try and find a full review of that so I can back it up more, but it was ridiculous.
EDIT:: EDIT again, christ this is an old article. I'll find a newer statement on the matter.
EDIT3:: Here we are. This is a good video representation. Obama speaks later on in the video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIum0o-_LZk You can ignore the Ron Paul support at the end haha.
And here's the newest video with his comments on Pakistan.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ze_pG6Q62HA&feature=relatedWASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama said on Wednesday the United States must be willing to strike al Qaeda targets inside Pakistan, adopting a tough tone after a chief rival accused him of naivete in foreign policy.
Obama's stance comes amid debate in Washington over what to do about a resurgent al Qaeda and Taliban in areas of northwest Pakistan that President Pervez Musharraf has been unable to control, and concerns that new recruits are being trained there for a September 11-style attack against the United States.
Obama said if elected in November 2008 he would be willing to attack inside Pakistan with or without approval from the Pakistani government, a move that would likely cause anxiety in the already troubled region.
Full article found here:: http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUSN0132206420070801And the current economic crisis hardly falls on one man's head, so those of you yelling "AWMFG BUSH KILLED THE ECONOMY AND IZ MAKING PEOPLE POOR" need to take a freaking econ and government class. I agree with those prior to my post who said if you want the economy to change, focus more on the senator elections and not so much on the damn presidential. X_o That would be far more influential in the long run.
Speaking of which, on another note, after 9/11 the majority of people were
demanding action or retaliation of some sort, how easily people seem to forget. We go into a war and after a few years people realize oh snap this isn't a happy thing to do, this was a bad idea, we should stop the war! No more war! Peace! But you can't just drop everything and walk out. I do believe we need a plan for exiting but some of the methods of doing so brought out are simply irrational, irresponsible, and overall stupid. The president is also the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, and I believe McCain has FAR more experience and intelligence in military situations than Obama. I think of the two, McCain will be able to pull out of Iraq most efficiently and safely.
But eh. Just my views of things as they stand. And on the VP level? Definitely support Pallin over Biden. Poor choice on Obama's behalf, I believe.
Ugh, in retrospect that came out far less eloquent & supportive than I intended it to. But these are just my opinions. Whatever happens in November will happen, and we will have to deal with it either way.
