Brutal death metal developed in the early 1990s, as an outgrowth of death metal. The first hints of brutal death came from the band Cannibal Corpse, formed in 1988, which began to push death metal into more extreme levels, shaping the sound of brutal death metal. It wasn't until 1991 that brutal death metal emerged, with the releases of Suffocation's Effigy of the Forgotten and Immolation's Dawn of Possession.
The late 1990s proved to be an important time for brutal death metal with the release of both Devourment's Molesting the Decapitated and Disgorge's Cranial Impalement along with the releases of Dying Fetus. This has led to a large amount of bands heavily influenced by the originators of the style.
Brutal death metal has spread internationally. There are large and active scenes in the world today, especially in Colombia, Japan, Italy, USA and UK.
DO U LOVE IT TOO?

Yeah, I'm emo. Beats being stupid, though. Nice attempt, but telling me the truth, doesn't count as anything.

Way to generalize people because they don't have the same musical taste in you. Spot on. Brutal isn't exactly for everybody, myself included. Though I listen to just about anything, the only band I liked listening to that was "Brutal" was Cannibal Corpse, way back in the day.

Learn to read, please. I dislike the POINTLESS SCREAMING FROM DEATH METAL. It sounds stupid, it is stupid, much like you are. Metal, on the other hand, aka Diecast, and stuff, I like. So, remind me how I'm an emo?

Emo subtly hates everybody, and then writes songs about it. mostly whiny ones. I never really thought about the whole "emo hating metal hating emo" thing. I personally can't stand the current "emo" scene, and I use the quotation marks because if these idiot scenekids knew what "emo" was, they'd be mindf*cked for days on end.

I listen to everything from ambient to goregrind. Certain bands though. Like, Cannibal Corpse is not heavy enough, but I'm not up to Dying Fetus or Nile yet. But I do like Katalepsy. Just no country. Also, I note that Aiden is the gayest band ever.

When I was growing up (Well, I guess I still am, but you know what I mean) Metal and Emo were like polar opposites. In terms of like, music and how people look. Now they seem to be merging. I've been listing to stuff like... Atreyu and Bullet For My Valentine. Seems more Metal then emo, More emo then Metal. And I moved down to SoCal, and tried to get into the metal scene in my Highschool... But I looked so out of place I guess. They all wore those skinny donkey jeans and junk. I never got into that crap, and here in socal, it seems people are pretty big on looks. Wait... Getting too off topic I think...
Yeah yeah. I don't really care about the categories. I think I like some Brutal Death Metal. But then again, I like just about everything. Even country. Nile, Cannibal C, all those eating dead people bands are all gewd in their own ways. I've been taking some music classes though, and I've been looking at the compositions of the music, and I'm developing more of a taste for technical Death Metal and the more complicated pieces. I've just started learning to play the guitar these past few months, and It's really amazing how simple most of these songs are.
Whoa. 60 days old. My bad.
