ANNOUNCEMENT:We are seriously seeking a skilled and talented Server Technician who knows how to work a server from the inside-out. We are developing a whole new RO Episode to implement after we launch the server to the general public. We are up and running with our beta version right now. The skills we require from a Tech Specialist are listed at the bottom of this topic.

If you are reading this then you have decided to toss your name in the hat and wish to become part of the DeathCardRO staff. That is awesome! Please take a few minutes and read this before filling out your application.

So, you think being a Co-Admin, Sub-Admin., Scriptor or a GM is as easy as simply running events and handing out cool items to players??? Wrong, it is much more than that. If you think being a staff member is going to be the same as being a normal, in game player, think again. There is so much more to it than that. Being a staff member requires dedication, strong decision making skills and being able to make sound calls of judgment. As a member of the staff, especially as a GM, it will be on you to interact with the players both in game and on the server forum. That is unless your job description is as a Scriptor, a position which will not require you to work with the players and will be as stress-free as possible. Being a mature and forthright person is a plus. Strong tech skills are a major facet as is in game experience.

Being a GM or any other title is a very complex thing. It is more like a job than a casual hobby. The role of a staff member can be filled with fun and laughter as well as love and even sometimes hate... Disputes and disruptions do occur and mediating a serious matter can often cause anger and hate which is thrown at us just for doing our jobs. Making the right decision for all parties concerned is a major part of the role of a staff member. So yes, there is stress involved with the title. If you are a person who cannot deal with people who are sometimes cold and vicious then this is most likely not the role for you. If you cannot deal with stress, yours as well as others, then again it comes to the same thing. Being a Co-Admin, Sub-Admin., Scriptor or GM might not be the job you want to jump into.

But if you can deal with these types of things, then so much the better. Remember, a Co-Admin, Sub-Admin. or a GM must be loyal to the Server, the Root Administrator of the Server, the GM staff and of course the players. You must keep an open mind, a watchful eye and an attentive ear. Be nice to people but stern as well. Do not be swayed or suckered. Do not fall prey to corruption and always think of the good of the many and not the needs of the one. As a Scriptor you should be very tech savvy, stay on top of new developments and releases and keep the server up to date.

So, if you jump on here thinking, "Oh cool, I get to be a GM so I can give all of my friends custom items and help them level up and go on quests with them!!!", you are going to be bitterly disappointed. None of that is true and will not happen and you have wasted not just your time but the time of the staff who has to review these applications to find new talent to bolster our GM crew.
