Balancing RO and Life

Some people don't balance it, playing RO up to 8 hours+ a day (I've been there, not gunna lie). What are some of your ways of balancing RO and Real life?

Especially when idiots say on RO, "Oh yeah get a life" and they themselves are online every single day.

Back when I played, I used to play every weekday and not on weekends-- except for WoE.

I think I balance my life with RO just play 4 hours a day

... I've been online since 17:00 yesterday >_>; it's 14:00 now - so 9h straight so far? I'm'a be on until at least 21:00, too; RO is just too addictive

Of course, if my fiancé didn't play, I'd only play 30min a day at most and then get bored >< So maybe it's my addiction to having fun with him that pushes me to play more and more?

Thus, I can't balance ): I can only control myself when I'm back home with my fiancé and not visiting my parents (as I am doing now). I'm sure many people have been in the same, RO-addiction loop >_>;

That just reminds me when I was on a server a long time ago and the GM announcement said the server is closing please get a life bleh bleh.  The crusader besides me said exactly this "WHAT ABOUT ME!!! I DON'T HAVE A LIFE!@#$J)#$"

Anyway, I think in my case yes I have been there done that too but when you see your grades goes to the toilet or your bank account balance goes on a long downward trend you will start to wake up.  Whichever applies to you.

Haha...How I balance it? I don't..recently I've been hanging out with my girl and since yesterday I've been helping script for a private server >.> and making new classes..so I havn't really been on RO lately >.>
I'm on one extreme or the other~

Man, I back when I played, I ran a guild of like +30 ish for WoE. Once you get a adrenaline rush from the mafia style fights, you go back for more. (Thanks to the respawn button!)


Balance? I just WoE and prepare for WoE.

I haven't really played actively for about a year, but im waiting for a server to get ready I have had my eyes on for a while and once that's out I will most likely play very actively again. I would guess on 4-5 hours a few days/week.

I do think though that it's important to have another hobby apart from gaming, preferably something that includes exercise to stay healthy, for the social bits too.

RO seems to catch many different types of players, from the gamer ppl who love to play to people like me who just like to sit and talk.  Honestly, RO is beyond addictive XD.  I'd say I game wayyy to much, my grades...and parents think so to hahaha
To balance it, I just do other stuff like talking with the people I know or working on my personal projects.  Seems to work pretty well, if you find something else to do, RO becomes something un-needed hahaha

I usually pop into Ventrilo first and check with what my guildmates are doing. If it's something I wanted to do (lowbie leveling party, MVP runs, server event, etc.) and I have nothing else to do I'd pop in and stay depending mostly on how long my guildmates are on. It's a good thing my guildmates are all Ventrilo whores lol.

Sometimes I'd solo, but usually just to make money on the side and I wouldn't stay on for hours at a time solo.

I used to be addicted to RO when I was younger and first started playing. It was horrible, i disconnected from most of my friends, became unhealthy and loss my priorities from the game but then I grew older and I had more responsibilities so I had to stop playing for awhile (that, I was kicked off the computer anyway) hahaha. Anyways, I haven't played for a while but I'm feeling relaly nostaltgic, I've play other MMORPGs before and I also balanced my real life with my game life so I think I can start balancing RO well now. ^^ Can't wait to start playing again!

I balance RO-life by doing something with my life O.o If you don't put effort into finding other things you can do besides gaming, then it isn't weird that you don't, and wont ever, have a life.

For me; I fill up most of my time by doing schoolprojects and working. Besides that I have student parties once in a while and I hang out with friends.

I play RO a lot less these days than I did a few years back.  But I get around like 2 hours of RO and the rest of the day I do something else.
