My guild and I played in this server just to pass time while we're looking for more decent midrate/lowrate servers. We were attracted by the admin's server description that goes "BattleRO strive to bring the balanced, stable and more fun server that you can call home. We take work seriously and your gameplay value is of the utmost importance to us."

To our surprise, it was otherwise.

Stability and Availability
This server is stable. It has more uptimes than downtimes.
What makes it bad is that around 60-70 percent of the population are mostly bots
which ruins the server actually. You'll see a lot of buff bots and bots in mjolnir field
3 and 6

Community
Friendliness
The people here are mostly rude. Most of them are egocentric players who think they are
so tough in PvP because of their 30k ygg seeds in the storage and their countless donation
items.

What annoyed us is a certain player who is one of the biggest donators in the server. He thinks
he's the owner of the server so he tells people who are against him to leave.

We've suggested several things to make this server balanced. It is our way of helping the server
but what do we get?
These:
First, we were told by the players from a certain guild and the admin himself that
If we do not like some settings, then we should leave
Second, We got flamed for our suggestions
Third, We were told that the server became bad when our guild stepped in to this server

Helpfulness
The only helpful GM that I find in this server is GM Fenris. Other GMs only stick
to their title "Even GM'. They don't have the initiative to make time in helping players.
After they've done their events, they just leave and go back to pvp-ing with their legit
chars because they believe that they've already done their part. Bottom line: Mediocrity.

The admin is helpful in some ways. You have to actually have an msn/yahoo messenger account
to reach him because he's usually offline. If he's online, he just start a pub in prontera saying
"AFK" or "Vote for battleRO".

I talked to the admin once about the issue on placing a delay on the usage of ygg seeds.
His reply was this "If you don't like it then leave". It was the most disrespectful and
unethical reply that I got from an ADMIN.


Availability
There are events that are being held when GMs are on. Most of them like GM Pyro and GM
Fenris host events like Guess the Monster, Hide and Seek, and Gold Rush. You'll be seeing
the GMs online around 2-3 times a week. Sometimes GMs are never on. Sometimes they just go
online to jail disrespectful players that abuse the Megaphone. What's annoying though is that
they jail players that beat their legit chars or curse at them in PvP if in fact there's no rule
against cursing in PvP.

You can only find SOME people who are actually friendly.

Economy
Honestly, I'll give it a 2/5 if 5 was the highest.
The items being vended at the Market are totally useless because most of the players
only care about buying bulk yggseeds at 600k a piece. What's more prominent in the trade
industry are the donation gears and the MvP Cards (Fallen Bishop Hibram, Kiel Cards, these
are in demand items). So basically, if you're a donor, you are rich.
Most players here only become rich because of botting. I have noticed that our guild is the
only one that made money or obtained donation gears through hunting Bio3 MvPs and Satan Morroc.

Guild Competition
I could say that there's no guild competition at all. There are currently 2 big guilds and 1 small
guild in this server. The one small guild would then ally with one of the two bigger guilds
because they couldn't handle pressure from both guilds. Most of the guilds here rely solely
on emergency call because you can reuse it just by relogging. You can see most of their members
just hanging out in their town or waiting for opponents that enter the first room while their
guild master try to push their luck on a successful ecall outside or inside the emproom. You won't
be seeing the classic guild versus guild battles on their way to the emproom. You won't see
players supporting each other while they attack the castle. It's only all about high jumping e-callers
so that you could e-call your guildmates. Around 5 seconds after a castle is taken, you'll see it
taken by another guild because of no delay e-call.
Moreover, playes spam yggberries and yggseeds like there's no tomorrow. Whitepots,Mastelas,Royal Jellies
and Blue Potions are totally useless.

Class Balance
The most numbered character classes here are the following:
Sinx, Champ, Pally, Wizards. All other classes seem to be useless except for the
soul linkers and taekwon masters because they are being used as recallers due to
their high jump skill.

For other Issues:

The Admin is feeble-minded
There are two issues that came up in the server and I will discuss them to you in detail.

First is the Yggdrasill Seed/Berry issue.
Some players suggested that there be a delay in the usage of yggs because they are being abused.
The admin accepted the suggestion at first but he just brought it back making pvp and woe
boring. GM Pyro had a so called "votation" in game if the delay be removed or retained. The only
participants of the votation were two guilds, our guilds and his own guild which had more numbers
that our guild. Obviously, his guild members agreed to remove the delay. Then hastily, they agreed
to remove the delay. It is ironic because THE WHOLE SERVER WAS NOT INVOLVED. Only two guilds were
present there. It was a biased votation.

Second is the E-call 5 minute delay Issue
Some players found out that the e-call is being abused during WoE which makes it really annoying.
The admin accepted the suggestion. Most of the players loved it because there's a better competition
between guilds. A certain guild boycotted it though because they can't abuse the e-call. It showed pretty
much that they can't WoE properly without relying on e-call because they obviously had no idea what they were
doing when they tried to participate in the woe with the original e-call setting. After some days, the admin
brought back the "relog-ecall" because he was not amused by the guild battles where in fact MORE PLAYERS
liked the removal of "relog-call"

The Admin only cares about the donation
In this server, you could find a new description of donation. Donating in the server is now actually the same as the word
"buying".We could observe that there are a lot of players that donated here but the only improvements
that I could see are some minor updates and the recent host transfer which did not really fix the
lag issue. If you're an active player in game and in the forums. You'll see that the Admin's reply
is usually about donation concerns instead of focusing too about player reports/player suggestions.
Since we've started in this server, we could not really see any changes where the donation fund
was used. Where the hell did the donations go?

There is no actual balance and fair gameplal in this server. It's the biggest SCAM ever
In their server description, they placed these "

BattleRO has balanced Donation Items. Of course the donors get some great bonuses that you can't compare to other items, but it's still more than possible to be stronger than donors. If you don't believe in our balances, feel free to go ingame and try it."

It's enticing at first that's why our guild came to the server because we wanted a high rate with balance and fair gameplay. The donates did not really matter because we know that we could obtain it through trade. I say that this was a scam because you're telling players something fancy but if you get in to the game, there's nothing really nice about it. There was no balance afterall.

Suggestions/Players Reports are being ignored.
Only a few suggestions were accepted but after a few days, they will bring back their preferred settings.

Egocentric Players
Most players here, usually the donors, tell the people what they want around. If you suggest something
and they find it against their favor, they flame you like there's no tomorrrow. They forum is filled with
useless flames instead of properly posted arguments.


Some items were modified
some donation items' original description were modified making it really unbalanced.
Assumptio scrolls are usable in WoE.

The server hates us?
I have no real basis here but I'll say it anyway. When we came here we noticed that
the droprate of Combat Knife was 50%. Bio 3 MvP cards were all allowed except for the
Assassin Cross Card and High Wizard Card. After some time when we began mvping in bio labs
we noticed that the MvPs do not drop cards anymore and the Combat Knife drop rate was reduced to 10%. We understand that the Combat Knife is a donation gear. It's just unfair that the Admin dropped
it's drop rate just because our guild is the only guild capable of doing bio 3 MvPs. WE DO NOT MEAN
TO RIP YOU OFF BECAUSE CK IS A DONATION GEAR. (CK is in a high demand btw)

GM Abuse
Some GMs especially GM Pyro have been repeatedly involved in anomalies. In fact he was reported
several times in the forums because he kept jailing people who cursed at his legit chars on the PvP room. He also muted several players (my guildmate being one) for unknown reasons.

After the admin saw SEVERAL reports. All he got was a warning. There were a lot of his involvement on
several abuses but in every report he only gets a warning. Oh btw, he's a donor too.


Good points of this server:
-GM Fenris (Being the only REAL GM in this server)
-Automated events
-the feel of having a populated server (there are bots =/)
-Easy to level up and gear up your characters

Bad points of this server
-Egocentric players
-Terrible Administrator
-Terrible running of the server
-Lag spikes
-Terrible WoE
-Terrible PvP
-Donation centered - server
-Lack of GM Activity
-Server Dramas
-there's no way to prevent WPE and RPE
-Biased GMs to their guild and friends.

The server is totally ironic to be called battleRO
There's just no skills involved in most players' gameplay. Most people even called
it yggspamRO.

Honestly, this server does not deserve to be rated number 1 at the High Rate Ranking of www.ratemyserver.net. Players are actually motivated to vote and make reviewds because of the points that they get which can be traded for some items in game. You need to actually vote and get
300 points just to get a slotted glasses. Sunglasses[1] quest was made difficult because of its ingredients. Most players are stuck in an either or world. It's either you vote much and suffer or you donate to get good items.

Our guild left this server because we did not wish to be involved in flame wars. We just wanted a server
that we can call home. WE ACTUALLY LIKED the server at first but it just became worse.

I could back up my claims with the forum discussions at z3.invisionfree.com/ragnabattle but they closed it and probably wiped it. They have a new forums at forum.ragnabattle.net.

I'm still checking on the forums and sometimes logging on in game.
At the forums, I found players who are dissatisfied with settings like the no delay ygg and the no delay ecall

In the game. Before there was a peak of 500 during WoE times but after our last woe last night, there were only 350 players including the bot population. The normal server population from around 300-400
dropped to 200-300.

If you wish to look for high rate servers, then keep looking and don't try to stumble on this server. You'll just regret it.

That's the same ID he used when HititRO was still alive (he was selling zeny for RO load).

Before I created my account here in RMS, I saw a post from his site/forums (forgot which), stating that prizes will be given to players who submit reviews. I think it was around 100m zeny each, if I'm not mistaken.

To the above translation, I can assure that it's a fully legit translation because I am a Filipino myself. I hope that the administrator, Mephistopheles, would reply to this review. It's funny seeing his replies on the smaller server reviews in battleRO's ranking. It just seems too unprofessional especially the part where he replies and says "banned for wpe".

Case 1:
His reply to kel19 doesn't really have enough proof. Especially the part where he says that kel19's suggestion wrecked the server's population. Last time I checked, before even the suggestions were implemented the server pop was already averaging around 300ish. Also, kel19 only suggested, a suggestion can be subjected to approval or rejection. It was not the player's fault if you accepted it. Well, you actually accepted some suggestions but you always take them back after a few days. You don't even ask the players (I MEAN THE WHOLE SERVER IN GENERAL) if they like a certain suggestion before you pull the plug. Every time a player suggests, more people actually vote in favor of that player's suggestion. Then certain people from a certain guild(Team Punishment/Team Overkill/Team Ex-los + friends from Deflower/Delasalle), who are mostly donors, don't want it because they think it will ruin their way of playing. MORE PEOPLE LIKED THE SUGGESTION but you take it back just because of what these donors tell you? Besides, you keep on making decisions which are more beneficial to the donors. When they tell you that they don't like it, you simply follow. Everyone is aware that not a single donor who has made more than 8000 Php worth of donation has been banned even amidst their endless insults and anomalies (GM Pyro in this case). One more thing, why do you even have to bend the rules for these guys especially in the forums. New rules keep popping up whenever some player is giving more concrete and firm discussions against players from the aforementioned guild's senseless flames and cussing. Also in connection with this, I wonder why your donor, Exia/Mahina/Jay Milla threatened some players. He told them "Don't make me let you taste what a player with a GM friend can do"?

Case 2:
Immortality's post.
"so why you keep on connecting and begging to unblock or unban your account? hahaha.. btw you and your friends were IP banned + account block good luck. community, game masters and gameplay 1? you guys even beg to fix your bot and to me it proves somehow you enjoyed playing here. hahaha"

Since when did Immortality beg for his IP/account be unblocked? Since when did we ask for our accounts to be unblocked? HE WAS NEVER BANNED. More than that, HE NEVER ASKED YOUR HELP FOR BOT CONFIGURATION. Stop making senseless posts or replies. You don't even have a basis for this. I know what I am saying here because I and Immortality talk everyday on our Ventrilo channel.

I was a bRO player, too. And I strongly agree to all points stated in this review.

I quit because of the way the GM Team administers server changes, without even asking the players if they wanted it. Or maybe, he asked the players: the "super donors," if they wanted that change/update or what. This was what happened with the E-call bug, being allowed to be abused again after having it removed with a legitimate discussion in the forums. (the past forum, which the admin closed, which, too, maybe, because it had too many posts that showed the server's flaws (just like Codec said)) and he was too lazy to delete them so he decided to make another forum. Back to the E-call bug, it was removed properly with a proper discussion. Of course, the Admin should have (at least) given a notice to the players that he is going to allow the Bug to be abused again before he does the update or maybe, put up another thread in the forum if the players wanted it back or what. The players discussed about changing E-Call, so he should have discussed it, too, with his players; what happened was he just put the bug back, because he liked WoE before with the E-Call bug, rather than the WoE without it. That's just..that.
