Need Help Starting

Ok so i just downloaded RAG and SAK and installed and patched them then i made a folder called data, in it i made a file called sclientinfo.xlm, in that test file is this

I then downloaded this: 2007-4-16a_Sakexe_v10. Ok no heres my problem, no matter what server i install the RMS test server selection never comes out, ive installed and uninstalled over 10 different servers and they never work. What am i doing wrong?

I've followed the every direction on the "problem page". I have the same problems shikamace had. After his problem was resolved he didn't say how he fixed it so people with a similar problem cannot fix theirs.

My problem is when i open the client you download from the site, it goes straight to the login area. There is no choice of server. I extracted the 3 downloaded files into my data file etc...

I think the problem most people have is the "xml" file. Could you upload yours onto the site admins?

The XML is the extension in which some cases WinXP hides.  Many of you end up inserting the extension name, creating "sclientinfo.xml.txt".

To show extensions:

Open any folder, click tools, followed by folder options.

Click on the "view" tab and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types".  You should see full extensions.  If you see "sclientinfo.xml.txt" then you've made a mistake.  Rename it to sclientinfo.xml.

ok mines says just .xml not .xml.xml....my probably is when i click the client nothing pops out

Try removing all the contents of data except the xml.  If it still doesn't load up, then the xml is in an incorrect format.

your data.ini might be messed up, try going in that and changing the part that says

2=data.grf

to

2=sdata.grf

inside your ro folder.  i.e. C:\Program Files\Gravity\RO\data.ini

Thanks riot and yc.

Now a new problem (i guess it's related to RMS test server forum)
I've got my sak and kro. Both are at 1017.
Now the problems comes during the patching. Both always crash
during midway of the 1107 patch.
"Ragnarok/sakray.exe has encountered a problem and needs to be closed"

As usual, the patch is incomplete and it will start once again at 1017 when
it is re-opened.

Any plausible reason/ solution?
